Summer Giveaway! Tote Bag from “The Flip Flop Bitch,” and a Signed Copy of My Book!

I love today’s giveaway! And how could I not, when it’s an adorable, functional tote bag from a company called The Flip Flop Bitch? And since we go together like two bitches in a bag, I’m throwing in a free signed copy of my book for the winner, too!

BAG

Didn’t you ever wish you had a pair of flip flops with you and a magical purse to carry your heels home? My wedding day was one of those days.

Never did 24 hours fly by so quickly; it was like I blinked, and the day was over. I don’t even remember going to the bathroom! (Wait a minute, yes I do. I accidentally peed on my friend. Don’t judge me. You try locating a toilet under a circus tent of organza and tooling. She was trying to hold my dress up for me, and – oh, forget it. Another story for another time.)

While my brain couldn’t stop thinking how it was the shortest day ever, my poor feet were like “bitchsaywha?!” because, although I went to great lengths to find the cutest pair of heels for the big day, I never considered how much I’d want to rip them off my feet after just a few hours.

And it never really crossed my mind to pack a pair of flip flops. I mean, wouldn’t that be tacky?! A bride, ever so elegant, busting out a pair of beat-up flip flops from a shopping bag? That was what I thought before my wedding. During my wedding, I would have traded the entire Viennese hour for a pair of flip flops.

But these bags from The Flip Flop Bitch? They are elegant, classic, and handmade in the USA, and the perfect bag to carry your heels in when your feet start hurting and you’re ready to make the switch.

They come in a ton of different styles and colors. The large tote folds up and is housed within the small wristlet, and when you are ready to kick off your heels, simply unfold the big tote and – voila! – you have elegant bag to carry them home.

The one I’m showcasing and giving away today is the “Wedding Cake Cream” tote from their bridal collection:

You can customize these even further by attaching a decorative brooch that matches your wedding style, like I did, here:

These make an excellent gift for bridesmaids, too! If I knew about the Flip Flop Bitch bags I would have not only purchased one for myself, but I probably would have given one to each of my girls – and maybe even our moms!

One of my favorite things about this bag is the little tote that it comes in. You can fill the larger tote with your makeup and other bridal gear, and eventually your heels, and use the little tote to bring to cocktail hour. It’s the perfect size to hold your lipstick, phone, some cash, and other small necessities.

We all know that the wrong pair of heels can turn us from “easygoing sexy party mama” to “fire-breathing she-beast” in a matter of minutes, so this giveaway naturally got me thinking of all the times I wished I had flip flops in a tote bag. Here, a small sampling of those times:

  • at 2 AM while in Mexico on Spring Break, when those “super cute” DSW scores from the sale rack morphed into death spikes as we teetered all the way home;
  • My WEDDING NIGHT (of course);
  • The time I was working for that ad agency that shall not be named, when my lovely she devil boss had me running around Manhattan delivering tapes of commercials to all the major networks. (I hated that job, but that day, my feet reeeeeeally hated that job.)

What about you? When did you wish you had an extra pair of flip flops with you, and a bag to carry your heels home? Telling me in the comments is one way you can enter to win this one! Here are the details…

THE GIVEAWAY

This time I’m giving away a brand spankin’ new bridal Flip Flop Bitch bag along with a free, signed copy of my book!

SHOW

Both of these items are for the practical, savvy woman who wants to look chic and feel good all at the same time on the day she says “I do”.

But you don’t have to be a bride to win this combo pack! Everyone could use one of these totes, and you can enjoy the book whether you’re married or not. (Seriously, most of my Amazon reviews are from non-brides or post-brides!) It also makes a great gift for the bride-to-be in your circle!

There are a few ways you can enter to win this combo-pack:

  1. Comment on this blog post: tell me the one time you wish you had a Flip Flop Bitch tote to carry home your heels-turned-death-spikes;
  2. Instagram Users: follow me (missp290) and The Flip Flop Bitch (theflipflopbitch), upload a photo of the most painful yet most adorable pair of heels you just can’t do without, with the hashtag “#bridalbitchgear”
    -OR-
    if you already got married, upload a pic on Instagram of a detail from your wedding that is different, edgy, or non-traditional with the hashtag #bridalbitchgear. For example, for me, since my husband is a die-hard beer lover and we were married in October, we chose to forgo the champagne and toasted with Sam Adam’s Oktoberfest instead! Here’s a pic of that as an example of how you should Instagram:
Our "non-traditional" wedding detail: toasting with Sam Adams Oktoberfest for our October wedding, instead of champagne! #bridalbitchgear
INSTAGRAM CAPTION: “Our ‘non-traditional’ wedding detail: toasting with Sam Adams Oktoberfest for our October wedding, instead of champagne! #bridalbitchgear”

-OR-

  1. Facebook Users: “Like” my PunkWife Facebook page and the Flip Flop Bitch Facebook page, answer the question in the post on the PunkWife Facebook page, and tag a friend whom you know would love a Flip Flop Bitch bag and copy of my book.

That’s it! You only need to do ONE of these three things to enter to win (but bonus points for you of course if you do more!). We will choose the winner using Random.org a week from today (Wednesday, July 16th) at 3 PM! Good luck!!

OH, one last thing! If you like these totes from The Flip Flop Bitch and want to check out their entire selection, use the coupon code PUNKWIFE at checkout to get 10% off your purchase through August 31st! My current, non-bridal fave is the classic “Little Black Tote” made with vegan leather. Tell them PunkWife sent you!

I studied abroad in Rome. One of the last nights there, the students dressed up and we all went out to dinner near Piazza Navona. I carried my heels and wore my flip flops to meet everyone at our school, which was a block or two from the restaurant, but I left my flip flops there when we all headed to the restaurant. Afterwards I had to walk back to my apartment in Trastevere. The school was locked up so I couldn’t grab my flip flops. Not even half way there, I had my heels off and was bravely walking barefoot on the super dirty cobblestones. A tote bag would have been nice. Holding my dress up, balancing on the cobblestones, and carrying my heels was a task. 🙂

‘@Lisa, dirty cobblestones, locked up flip flops…you DEFINITELY could have used one of these bags!!! Sounds like the absolute perfect case for it! :)The things we women do for our heels!! HA HA
