I wish I could somehow through this blog post let you smell what my house smells like right now. But maybe it’s for the best that you can’t, so you’ll be pleasantly surprised when you try this for yourself. I tried this and my home smelled incredible and, with only three ingredients, the recipe is super easy. So, put down the bottle of chemical-filled febreeze. Step away from the Glade Plug-in. Give this natural air freshener a try as a great way to usher in Spring – you won’t be disappointed!
Ingredients:
1 lemon, sliced
a few sprigs of fresh rosemary
2 tbsp vanilla extract
Directions: Fill a sauce pot about 2/3 of the way with water, add ingredients, and simmer for as long as you like. You can let it go all day long as you chug a bottle of wine hire a maid do your spring cleaning, adding water and/or more lemon as needed. It is so good, our house smelled awesome after this – really light and clean.
I put 1 1/2 tsp of almond extract in it. Kinda gave it a slight nutty scent.

How long does the smell last?
Maybe a day or two? I like to do it on a Friday so the house smells fresh for the weekend…
