Creamy Golden Milk

There is nothing quite like a creamy golden milk in the winter time. This drink has been on repeat over here pretty much every morning, and I’m still not tired of it!

It’s creamy, thanks to the cashew milk, and velvety in texture, because of the turmeric and other spices. It’s so delicious, and has a ton of health benefits particularly for this time of year.

Plus, I got a new mug I’m obsessed with. Something about finding the right mug that fits your hands just so and has a positive message that makes all the difference, right?

Nutritional Benefits of Golden Milk

What makes golden milk so beneficial to drink are the spices. Turmeric is always the star of the show; it has anti-inflammatory properties AND is a powerful antioxidant. It’s also been shown in clinical trials to improve memory, lessen pain, and much much more.

And, in order to get the full benefits of the turmeric, you always want to add with it a pinch of freshly ground pepper, which helps activate the spice’s healing properties.

I also add a bit of ground cardamom to my Golden Milk. I love the flavor of cardamom, which has a slight sweetness to it, but more importantly, it has several health benefits: it’s an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, helps with digestion, is antibacterial, and, in Chinese medicine, is considered detoxifying and great for kidney health. I add a bit of ginger as well, which is also loaded with health-boosting benefits.

Lastly, optional ingredients I rotate into my morning cup are collagen powder, Stamets 7 Daily Immune Support, and Manuka Honey.

I place all the ingredients in my frother, but stovetop works just as well. If using the stovetop you want to place all the ingredients Into a small pot and simmer for 10 minutes, whisking occasionally, until all ingredients are blended well. Simply pour, cozy up, and savor! It’s a delicious way to nourish your body during the cold winter months.
